As of today, I have officially completed the Kahootie Co. 30 day fitness challenge!
I’m so excited because today marks day 30 of my personal challenge. If you don’t know what the challenge is, check out this post!
Basically, I spent the past 30 days challenging myself to practice healthier habits. Towards the end of my senior year of college, I noticed that I wasn’t always eating the best. I ate way too many chips & queso, margaritas, Chic-Fil-A…. you name it! I was having a lot of fun, but I didn’t have a lot of energy. I also claimed I didn’t have time to work out and I started to fall into a slump.
As a Kahootie Co. ambassador, I was so happy when they announced the 30-day challenge! I knew that this was the perfect way for me to start developing healthier habits, and keep me accountable. I’ve read online that it takes about one month to develop (or break) a habit, so this was perfect. I was ready for a life change.
Over the last 30 days, I’ve learned to say “no” to foods that won’t make me feel my best. I also learned that I LOVE doing at-home workouts with Blogilates (check out her Youtube channel if you haven’t already!!). I drank a LOT of water and got plenty of sleep each night. Compared to where I was at 30 days ago, I feel so much much energized and happier.
Note: I did still treat myself here and there. After all, it’s much easier to slowly give up unhealthy foods than it is to cut it off all at once. I had the occasional glass of wine, ice cream cone, and pizza slice. Having them in small amounts made me appreciate/savor them more. I also noticed that I lost all cravings for french fries and chicken nuggets and instead craved filling foods like salads and smoothies.
I know there’s still a long way to go before I’m in perfect shape, but I’m really happy about the direction I’m heading. If you’re thinking about making a healthy life change but don’t know where to start, I highly recommend creating a 30-day challenge with your own rules! You know your own limits and can customize a plan for yourself that’s not intimidating like the challenges I’ve seen on Pinterest and Youtube.
I also recommend using a Kahootie Co. fitness pad to track your progress! It helped me stay accountable the entire 30 days because I kept it on my nightstand and filled it out every single night before bed. They have a daily planner and a weekly planner – so you can pick whichever fits your schedule better! I personally chose the weekly planner.
Cheers to a long summer of living my best (and healthy) life!
